Iran AmericanIsraeli strikes targeted 30 universities since the beginning of the war

Khaberni - The Iranian Minister of Science, Hossein Sema'ei Saraf, said on Saturday that at least 30 universities in Iran have been struck since the beginning of the American-Israeli war in late February.

The minister clarified, "Over 30 universities have been directly targeted so far," during his inspection of Shahid Beheshti University in northern Tehran, which was bombed on Friday.

The war in Iran erupted on February 28, 2026, following widespread airstrikes by the United States and Israel as part of the operations "Epic Fury" and "Lion's Roar," targeting vital and military installations and command centers in Tehran and several other cities, leading to the death of the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on the first day, along with a number of high-ranking officials and leaders, including the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani, and prominent leaders of the Revolutionary Guard.

In response, Iran launched "Operation True Promise 4," firing hundreds of missiles and drones towards Israel and countries in the region, coupled with the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, causing a rise in energy prices.

The war extended to Lebanon on March 2, after Hezbollah launched rockets at Israel following the assassination of Ali Khamenei, prompting Israel to respond with widespread airstrikes and a ground incursion into the south.
