The agency cited an informed source as saying that the pilot ejected from the fighter that was shot down this morning and survived the incident. Information circulating suggests that the US forces attempted to rescue him and possibly extract him from Iran, but some sources believe he may have been captured by Iranian forces.
The local channel of the Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province issued a statement from the command of the Internal Security Forces, calling upon the citizens and residents of mountainous areas and surrounding villages to fully cooperate in tracking and capturing the pilot or pilots of the downed American fighter this morning.
A financial reward has been announced for anyone who captures a soldier or American pilot within Iranian territory.
