Industry and Trade 1101 violations issued and 399 complaints received last month

Khaberni - The Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply issued 1101 violations, including those against establishments for not adhering to the provisions of the Industry and Trade Law and related legislation during the month of March, with the most notable violations being 922 for not displaying the prices of goods.

The Ministry stated that the Market Control Department dealt with various complaints received from citizens, totaling 399 complaints, through market inspectors distributed across all regions of the kingdom, and took the necessary actions to address them, reflecting the prompt response and effectiveness of the supervision.

The Ministry added that the supervisory teams conducted 1353 inspection tours covering 21891 visits to commercial establishments in various provinces of the kingdom, aiming to ensure their compliance with the instructions and regulations in force.

It pointed out that the Market Control Department continues to enforce the Industrial and Commerce Law no. 18 of 1998, which includes monitoring the availability and prices of basic food items, ensuring price declaration and compliance, monitoring stock at wholesale traders, as well as controlling practices related to the hiding or refusal to sell goods, and monitoring discounts, liquidations, and promotional offers.

The Ministry confirmed the continuation of its supervisory campaigns to ensure market stability and consumer protection, urging citizens to submit complaints and observations through the official channels and numbers designated for this purpose.
