Khaberni - His Majesty King Abdullah II, last Tuesday, received the recommendations from the specialized committee for monitoring the development of the judicial system, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince.
The committee's activities since its formation by His Majesty the King in November of last year focused on three axes: developing litigation procedures, judicial administration, and reviewing the infrastructure for construction and technology.

The committee's work was based on four national references previously completed, which are the 2017 Royal Committee report, a roadmap for public sector modernization, the economic modernization vision, and the sectorial strategic plan for 2017 and 2022.
The committee's work focused on five constants: developing institutional management, improving the environment suitable for judges, facilitating access to justice, modernizing the criminal justice system to enhance guarantees of fair trial, and expanding the establishment of specialized departments at various litigation stages.
The committee suggested amendments to 6 laws related to the judiciary and trials and recommended the study and amendment of the expert system before the regular courts and the system of using electronic means in civil judicial procedures.
It also worked on expanding the competencies of the economic chamber to include investment disputes at all litigation levels and enhancing the efficiency of judges working in it to create an attractive judicial environment for both domestic and foreign investments, and the regular courts and the system of using electronic means in civil judicial procedures.
The committee's work included reviewing legislation and recommending the amendment of more than 200 legal articles, with the aim of creating a qualitative leap in judicial work, achieving prompt justice, developing criminal justice and enhancing community security, and creating an investment-friendly environment, and boosting confidence in the judicial system, through the activation of technical offices in courts, improving the level of employees, developing the expert system and activating the electronic selection system for experts, re-evaluating the competencies of the magistrate judge and the competencies of the court of first instance, and expanding the competencies of the economic chamber.
In addition to unifying procedures before first instance courts, simplifying litigation procedures, enhancing the use of technology, and activating and developing the management of civil claims and expanding its tasks and increasing its jurisdiction within the general framework of the executive program and increasing the specialized judicial chambers.
The committee proposed an executive program that includes preparing operational plans linked to a timeline with a maximum expected deadline of the third quarter of 2027, and monitoring the implementation of these plans and developing them as appropriate.
