Khaberni - His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, confirmed during his visit to the German Jordanian University and meeting some of its students on Thursday, the importance of empowering youth and developing their skills to enhance their readiness to engage in the labor market.
His Highness also referred to the efforts made to keep up with the rapid developments in the fields of modern science and digital transformation, to contribute to building youth capabilities capable of innovation, pointing out the importance of practical training in university programs to enhance students' ability to adapt to future requirements.
The Crown Prince expressed his confidence in the youth and their pivotal role in advancing the development process and dealing with challenges responsibly.
There was an extensive dialogue between His Highness and the students on issues of concern to them in various fields, and the students reviewed their projects and shared their ideas aimed at providing practical solutions to challenges in vital sectors.
The Crown Prince also visited the Dean of Innovation and Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship, which is the first of its kind in Jordan, and the Technology, Research and Innovation Complex at the university.
His Highness listened to an explanation given by the University President Dr. Aladdin Al-Halhouli and several faculty members and students about the role of the Dean in supporting the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem and providing students with practical skills related to the needs of the labor market.
Al-Halhouli explained that the Dean includes a business incubator to support startups, and offers training programs and services for career guidance and capacity building, and works to enhance industrial partnerships between Jordan and Germany, opening broader prospects for graduates.
He indicated that the Technology, Research and Innovation Complex works on linking the educational outputs of the university with the needs of the industrial sector, according to an innovation model based on challenges, thereby enhancing research and development, knowledge transfer, and the marketing of its outputs.
During the visit, the Crown Prince was accompanied by the Minister of Education and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Azmi Mahafzah, and the Director of the Crown Prince's Office, Dr. Zaid Al-Baqain.
