Khaberni - The Jordanian Armed Forces, last night Wednesday, thwarted two smuggling and infiltration attempts on their western and northern fronts, as part of their ongoing efforts to protect the kingdom’s borders and ensure its security and stability.
The Southern Military Region, in coordination with the military security forces and the Anti-Narcotics Department, managed to thwart a smuggling attempt of a quantity of narcotics by a drone on its western front, after it was detected by the Border Guard forces and the rules of engagement were applied, leading to its dropping inside Jordanian territory, and the seized items being handed over to the competent authorities.
Meanwhile, the Northern Military Region thwarted an infiltration attempt by an individual who tried to cross the border from Syrian territory to Jordanian territory unlawfully, detected by the Border Guard forces, the rules of engagement were applied, and the individual was arrested and then handed over to the competent authorities.
The Jordanian Armed Forces confirmed that they are continuing to harness all their capabilities and resources to decisively confront all attempts of infiltration and smuggling, in order to preserve the security of the homeland and the safety of its citizens.
