Crazy race transforms office chairs into cars in Japan

Khaberni - Employees in Japan have invented an unconventional sport where they transform office chairs into "racing cars" that compete in real championships known as "The Office Chair Grand Prix".

Racing outside the box
Instead of sitting behind desks, participants rush to the streets on their chairs, pushing with their feet at speed, swerving, and overtaking each other, sometimes even going backwards, in races full of excitement.

This idea began in 2010 by Tsuyoshi Tahara, before it turned into a phenomenon that even major companies participate in.

The prize is unexpected
Despite the competitive atmosphere, winners do not receive monetary prizes but an unusual reward of 90 kilograms of rice.

It's not as easy as it looks
Participants confirm that the race requires genuine physical effort. Some revealed that they train by making tens of laps daily using a sports chair for distances up to 200 meters.

Some races may even stretch up to 25 kilometers, with pit stops and overtaking tactics, just like real car races.

Although the scene may seem funny at first glance, participants assure that the experience requires focus and high fitness, and it quickly turns from a fun game to a real challenge.
