Khaberni - A car mechanic in Sochi took the drastic step of selling a Mercedes belonging to one of his customers without their knowledge, in an effort to gather money for his grandfather's cancer treatment.
According to the Russian "MASH" channel on Telegram, a family from the Krasnodar region had brought their Mercedes GL-250 to a repair shop in Sochi for maintenance before selling it. After a period had passed, they decided to check on the car following delays that exceeded the agreed timelines, only to be shocked to find that the car had disappeared.
Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the mechanic working at the maintenance shop had pawned the car to an acquaintance for one million rubles, who then resold the car after forging its ownership documents.
The owners of the car filed a complaint with the police, and the mechanic was arrested. During the interrogation, he stated that he was desperately in need of money to pay for a surgical operation for his grandfather who is suffering from cancer.
The public prosecutor took over the investigation of the case and followed up on its circumstances. The mechanic might face a prison sentence that could go up to 10 years.
