When Crises Turn into Opportunities
الكاتب: هاني الدباس

Khaberni - At a critical time for the tourism sector, the cabinet's decision to approve the government's assumption of the interest due on financial facilitations for tourist facilities confirms a real awareness of the scale of the challenges and translates into an actual supportive approach that balances business continuity and phase requirements.

This decision has been a pivotal point that eased the financing burdens and provided facilities space to reorganize their operational priorities without direct pressure from financing costs.

In a step that reflects flexibility in resource management, the collection of service fees for the benefit of the Tourism Promotion Authority was postponed, which contributes to enhancing cash flows at facilities, and provides immediate liquidity to help them continue with higher efficiency.

The efforts did not stop there; the ministry has worked on the social security file by launching relief packages that contribute directly in supporting cash flow, adopting a flexible approach based on studying each case separately, ensuring the fairness of application and the effectiveness of the impact on the ground.

On the operational cost front, the electricity file was dealt with within a vision aimed at easing burdens without compromising service sustainability, in a delicate balance between supporting the sector and maintaining infrastructure continuity.

In parallel, efforts were made to prepare incentive packages to attract tourism from neighboring countries, alongside reactivating the “Jordan is a Paradise” program, reaffirming that the efforts go beyond internal handling to stimulate demand and reactivate the tourism market thoughtfully.

What distinguishes this phase is the parallel work on all files without exception, with an integrative approach that reflects a deep understanding of the interconnectivity of the elements of the tourism sector, where no aspect can be addressed without the other.

In this context, the role of His Excellency Dr. Imad Hajazin, who leads this movement with a comprehensive vision, is prominent. He works on all tracks simultaneously, focusing on a clear goal to protect the sector and enhance its flexibility. This ability to move balanced and make practical decisions at the right time reflects a leadership with crisis management expertise, understanding that success lies in the details as well as the bigger picture.

Today, with this positive approach, confidence is strengthened that the tourism sector is not only moving towards recovery, but towards a more mature and sustainable phase, based on a true partnership, clear vision, and capable management that can turn challenges into opportunities.

And in the end, the most important truth remains: in crises, leaderships capable of action are proven and their ability to make a difference is demonstrated.
