Khaberni - The Egyptian military court issued a death sentence by hanging for four defendants in the case known in the media as the sexual assault incident on children at Seeds School after consulting the opinion of the Mufti of the Republic.
The court also acquitted two defendants of the charges attributed to them in the crime that caused widespread panic and anger in the Egyptian street.
The judgment came after referring the papers of 6 defendants to the Mufti last February, in preparation for expressing a Sharia opinion on the death penalty, according to the legal procedures applicable in major felony cases.
The court based its judgment on the physical, medical evidence, and testimonies, including the report of the Forensic Medicine Authority, which confirmed the presence of human cells belonging to some of the defendants on the clothes of some of the assaulted children.
The events of the case date back to November 2025 when the Public Prosecution received a report indicating that five kindergarten children, KG2, aged no more than 5 years, were subjected to indecent assault and sexual abuse inside the school.
The prosecution charged the defendants, who are workers and employees at the school, with charges of abduction accompanied by indecent assault and sexual exploitation of children, coupled with luring and threatening them inside rooms at the school over more than a year.
The Public Prosecution described the incident as a "horrifying crime" that exploited the innocence and young age of the children, causing a significant shock among Egyptian families and widespread calls for tougher penalties for crimes against children.
This judgment is part of a series of swift judicial measures taken by the Egyptian authorities to deal with such crimes, amid popular demands for stricter oversight of private schools and protection for children.
Additionally, another group of 31 defendants faces separate trials on charges of negligence and endangering the lives of children in related cases.
