The Governor of Karak Calls on Citizens to Take Necessary Precautions Concurrent with Weather Instability

Khaberni - The Governor of Karak, Qabalan Al-Sharif, called on citizens throughout the province to take necessary precautions corresponding with the expected weather instability on Wednesday, according to information issued by the Meteorological Administration bulletins.

Al-Sharif explained that the large amounts of rain in the recent depressions require enhancing the staff through activating cooperation among all concerned authorities in the province, and deploying the staff and emergency teams across the province to ensure prompt response to any observations, especially since heavy rain accompanied by thunder is expected to start from the southern regions and extend to cover various areas of the kingdom.

He affirmed that the level of readiness has been raised among all governmental, security, and service entities, and primary and auxiliary operation rooms have been opened around the clock, in addition to preparing machinery, equipment, and proactive emergency plans with the necessity of passing any information or observations to the main operations room to ensure efficient and expedient handling.

He called on citizens to follow the guidelines issued by the relevant authorities, and the need to stay away from the edges of valleys, places of torrential formation, low-lying areas, and not to risk crossing water gatherings, whether on foot or using vehicles.

The Director of Karak Public Works, Raad Al-Sahimat, stated that the directorate has taken all necessary preventive and precautionary measures, based on reports issued by the Meteorological Administration, confirming that the directorate has put its staff and machinery in maximum alert to deal with any emergency that may arise from the expected weather conditions as well as readiness of the emergency teams and their field deployment to monitor water gatherings or blockages that may occur, alongside monitoring the functioning of stormwater drainage manholes to ensure their proper flow.

The Director of Agriculture in Karak, Engineer Mamoun Al-Adailah, has called on farmers and livestock breeders to move their livestock to safe places far from the paths of torrents and valleys, and to avoid grazing in low-lying or near-valley areas during the period of weather instability.

The Head of the Greater Karak Municipality Committee, Dr. Mohammad Al-Manaseer, confirmed that the municipality and its affiliated areas across the province have maximized their readiness to deal with the expected weather conditions through the readiness of crews and equipment to work in the field, to ensure the safety of citizens and address any observations immediately.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Mutah and Al-Mazar Al-Janoubi Municipality Committee, Dr. Abdullah Al-Abadleh, confirmed the complete readiness of the municipality through emergency teams that will continuously monitor the developments of the expected weather conditions and respond immediately to any reports or emergencies, in full coordination with the security devices, civil defense, and all related parties in Al-Mazar Al-Janoubi district.

The Head of Sheehan Municipality Committee, Engineer Bahjat Al-Rawashdeh, explained that a main operations room and sub-rooms have been established in various areas belonging to the municipality, equipped with machinery and equipment, and water suction engines to receive citizens' complaints and address them immediately, confirming that hotspots that have witnessed previous floods will be monitored through specialized teams to open culverts and manholes for rainwater drainage and remove any landslides on the roads in cooperation with the concerned authorities in Al-Qasr district.

The Head of South Ghors Municipality Committee, Engineer Abdul Hamid Al-Maaytah, stated that the municipality has increased its level of preparations to deal with the expected weather situation through a comprehensive emergency plan that includes equipping all necessary machinery and equipment, such as suction tanks and bulldozers, in addition to emergency teams that will be deployed around the clock.
