Removing Water Resource Encroachments in Irbid and Regulating Noncompliant Tankers

Khaberni - The staff of the Ministry of Water and Irrigation / Internal Inspection Directorate, in coordination with the Directorate of Water Basins and Central Workshops, carried out a campaign to remove encroachments on water sources in Zabda Furkooh / Irbid, accompanied by security forces from the General Security Directorate, West Irbid Security Center, and the Royal Administration for Environmental and Tourism Protection. Encroachments for selling non-compliant water through tankers within properties in the Zabda Furkooh / Irbid area were detected, and tanks with capacities of 35 and 100 cubic meters were created. The encroachments were removed, the lines disconnected, the pumps confiscated, and reports related to the incident were prepared. The investigation is ongoing to apprehend the offenders and refer them to the relevant judicial authorities.
The Ministry of Water and Irrigation appreciated the efforts of the Public Security personnel and the Royal Administration for Environmental and Tourism Protection, as well as the support of citizens who report such encroachments, confirming that such attacks pose a significant danger to water quality and have a major impact on the safety and health of citizens. It calls on everyone to ensure the sources of water purchased through tankers, especially since the law considers encroachment on water sources a crime punishable by long prison terms and large fines.
