Khaberni - French Foreign Minister Jean Noël Baro is heading to Israel on Friday, in his first visit since November 2024, especially since France's recognition of the state of Palestine in September 2025, which stirred dissatisfaction with the Israeli government.
The French Foreign Ministry stated, "Following his visit to Lebanon, Jean Noël Baro will head to Israel on Friday, March 20th."
It added that he will discuss with Israeli authorities "the security situation, humanitarian challenges and prospects for de-escalation, in continuation of the diplomatic efforts led by President" Emmanuel Macron.
Baro visited Lebanon on Thursday, where the Israeli army is conducting extensive military operations against Hezbollah, which is backed by Iran.
