Gas Prices in Europe Rise by 35

Khaberni - Gas prices in Europe rose by 35% on Thursday; due to new strikes targeting energy infrastructures in the Middle East, including Qatar's main Ras Laffan gas facility.

The price of the Dutch "TTF" natural gas contract, which serves as a benchmark in Europe, rose to 74 euros before slightly declining.

This comes after Iranian strikes inflicted "severe damage" on the industrial city of Ras Laffan, the world's largest center for gas production and export.

The Iran war entered its 20th day, after igniting on February 28, 2026, following extensive airstrikes by the United States and Israel in operations "Epic Fury" and "Lion’s Roar", targeting vital and military facilities and command centers in Tehran and several other cities, resulting in the death of the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on the first day, along with a number of high officials and leaders, including the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, and prominent leaders in the Revolutionary Guard.

In response, Iran initiated "True Promise 4", launching hundreds of missiles and drones towards Israel and countries in the region, along with the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, causing an increase in energy prices.
