Khaberni - The Public Security Directorate has warned of the expected weather conditions, as the Kingdom is affected today Wednesday by a state of atmospheric instability, accompanied by a cold and humid air mass due to a low-pressure system starting from tomorrow Thursday. Scattered showers may be intense at times, accompanied by thunder and hail, according to the meteorological bulletins issued by the relevant authorities.
The Directorate called for taking necessary precautions, adopting proper behavior, and the importance of staying away from the sides of valleys, areas of torrent formation, low-lying areas, and not risking crossing water accumulations whether on foot or by vehicles.
It also emphasized the importance of driving cautiously on roads that might experience rainfalls, being vigilant due to a decrease in horizontal visibility caused by fog over mountainous heights and due to dust in desert areas and on desert roads.
It warned of the severity of wind speeds and the strong gusts accompanying them, and the necessity to secure objects that might be blown away.
It also urged the safe and proper use of all types of heating equipment, not to refuel while ignited, to extinguish them when sleeping, to ensure proper ventilation in homes continuously, and to avoid using wood stoves due to their negative impacts, which could lead to suffocation cases.
It confirmed that all field personnel are prepared to handle various incidents and highlighted the necessity to call the unified emergency number 911 if needed.
