Katz announces the killing of the Iranian Minister of Intelligence in an Israeli airstrike

Khaberni  - Israeli Defense Minister, Israel Katz, announced on Wednesday the assassination of the Iranian Minister of Intelligence Ismail Khatib, following the killing of the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani and the commander of the Basij forces affiliated with the Revolutionary Guard, Gholam Reza Suleimani.

Katz stated in a release, "Last night, also the Iranian Minister of Intelligence Ismail Khatib was eradicated."

No confirmation has been issued from Iran regarding the claims about Khatib’s death.

Katz added that he and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu authorized the military to target any other senior Iranian official without the need for additional approvals.

The Iranian army's chief commander, Amir Hatami, warned on Wednesday of a "decisive" response to Larijani's killing by an Israeli airstrike, stating, "Iran's reaction to the assassination of the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council will be decisive and regretful," adding, "Blood vengeance shall be taken."

Iran officially announced on Tuesday night the killing of Ali Larijani, a key figure in governance, hours after Israel declared his assassination in an airstrike.

According to a statement from the Iranian National Security Council, Larijani was assassinated along with his son Morteza and the security assistant at the General Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Reza Bayat, and others.
