Jordan The government decides to increase the cost of living allowance for employees of the Jerusalem Waqf

Khaberni - The Cabinet decided to increase the cost of living allowance for the employees of the Jerusalem Waqf and the Affairs of the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by 70 dinars per month for each employee, to be added to their salaries, starting from the first of March of the current month.

The Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Mohammad Al-Khalaileh, confirmed that the decision is in line with the royal directives that support the employees of the Islamic Waqf in Jerusalem, and to enhance their efforts in serving the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and preserving its Arab and Islamic identity.

He explained that 800 workers will benefit from this allowance increase, noting that the payment of this increase will be made from the allocations of the Ministry of Awqaf.

The Jerusalem Waqf Department, affiliated with the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, operates under the Hashemite custodianship, where it fully supervises the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Islamic Waqf in Jerusalem. Its tasks include reconstruction, guarding, and managing educational and Sharia institutions, to preserve the Arab and Islamic identity of the holy city.
