Jordan A radical shift in weather Wednesday evening and night with thunderstorms and rains

Khaberni -  Arab weather maps indicate that the Kingdom will be affected during the hours of Wednesday/Thursday evening, night, and early Thursday morning by a state of atmospheric instability that will be strong in some areas. This condition is expected to lead to a radical shift in the weather, with an increased likelihood of forming thunderclouds accompanied by occasional heavy rains, along with lightning, thunder, and thunderbolts, especially in the southern regions.

During the day Wednesday: Warm and dusty weather and the onset of unstable weather conditions towards the end of the day

During the day on Wednesday, a further increase in temperatures is expected to be around the mid-20 degrees Celsius in the capital Amman and various Jordanian cities during midday and afternoon hours, with the weather being warm but dusty due to the activity of easterly winds.

Medium and high clouds will appear, and gradually, the chance of rain showers in the south of the Kingdom will arise, especially in the late afternoon hours that might be accompanied by thunder, and it's possible that these showers will extend to random areas of the north and the middle.

The Kingdom will enter a state of atmospheric instability Wednesday/Thursday evening and night, with a recommendation to stay away from valleys and torrential streams especially in the southern areas
According to the latest data from computer simulations by Arab Weather, it is expected that with the hours of Wednesday/Thursday night and the early hours of Thursday, cold air in higher atmospheric layers will deepen and converge with an extension of the Red Sea depression. This will increase the amount of clouds and rain showers will occur in various regions of the Kingdom including southern regions such as the Gulf and the city of Aqaba, Wadi Rum, Disa Basin, adjacent areas, Shara mountains, Wadi Musa, the southern Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, Wadi Araba, and roads leading thereto, as well as desert areas including the city of Ma'an, Al Jafr reaching to Al Mudawara border area and the road leading there.

These showers, at times heavy, will be accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, and possibly hail showers in some areas, as well as strong wind gusts that may cause temporary dust storms in some desert areas, and elevated and disturbed waves in the Gulf of Aqaba.

Key recommendations during the weather condition
• Drive cautiously and maintain a sufficient safety distance during rain and fog.
• Be aware of the danger of floods and flowing valleys, especially in low-lying areas, including the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea area and usual flood formation sites.
• Do not risk crossing torrents, as the water speed is sweeping and carries debris and stones.
• Be cautious of the risks of soil and rock landslides, particularly in the southern highlands and in areas of slopes and valleys.
