Khaberni - Media reports indicate that the Manchester City coach is preparing a special plan for the second leg of the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League against Real Madrid.
The first leg ended with a "Royal" victory; a neat hat-trick by Federico Valverde at Santiago Bernabeu.
The 433 account on the X platform stated that Spanish coach Pep Guardiola has given Manchester City players a full day off before the anticipated match against Real Madrid, an unusual step ahead of such a big game.
It continued: "City players will not undergo any training session today and will reconvene tomorrow, which is also the day of the match, in a surprising decision from the technical staff led by Guardiola."
It added: "This strategy is rare in football, especially before major matches, as most coaches prefer to conduct a final training session to fine-tune tactics and final touches. However, the Spanish coach previously adopted the same approach in November before facing Borussia Dortmund, granting his players a day off before the match, after which Manchester City achieved a resounding 4-1 victory."
Guardiola hopes that this decision will provide his players with additional mental and physical rest before the anticipated clash with Real Madrid, in a matchup expected to be one of the strongest games of the season.
