Khaberni - Media reports have confirmed that Bayern Munich is facing an unusual legal situation before the second leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 against Atalanta, due to its desire to play the young goalkeeper Leonard Prescott, who is 16 years old, in a match scheduled at 9 PM.
The French newspaper Le Parisien, quoting German sources, stated that according to the laws in Germany, individuals under 18 are not allowed to work after 8 PM, which presents a legal hurdle preventing the player's participation in the match without obtaining an official exemption from the competent authorities.
It explained: "Bayern Munich is currently working on applying for a special permit that allows the participation of the young goalkeeper, where this procedure requires multiple approvals including the player’s guardians, a medical report, along with his school's approval, before it can be sanctioned by the regulatory authorities."
It added: "These procedures are based on the Youth Employment Protection Law in Germany, which imposes strict restrictions on the employment of minors, including a ban on night work, as part of protecting their health and balancing their education and work."
It continued: "If the permit is obtained, the club will have to comply with additional regulations, among them granting the player a rest period of at least 12 consecutive hours before any subsequent training or work activity, which means he would not be able to participate in training the morning following the match."
