Khaberni - German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius rejected on Monday President Donald Trump's demands for military support in the war against Iran, and downplayed the threats that such a stance from the allies would harm NATO.
In Berlin he said, "What does (...) Donald Trump expect one or two European frigates to do in the Strait of Hormuz that the powerful American fleet cannot do?"
He added, "This is not our war, and we did not start it."
In response to a question about Trump's warning that NATO would face a "very bad future" if its members do not lend assistance to Washington, Pistorius said he doubts that the alliance would collapse because of these disagreements.
