Trump Administration Plans to Announce Alliance for Escorting Ships through the Strait of Hormuz

Khaberni - "Wall Street Journal" reported that the administration of US President Donald Trump intends to announce this week that several countries have agreed to form an alliance to escort ships through the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump had threatened to launch more strikes on Kharg Island, the Iranian oil export hub, and urged his allies to send warships to secure the Strait of Hormuz, during a time when Tehran vowed to escalate its response.

As the war entered its third week, Trump said the American strikes had "completely destroyed" most of Kharg Island and warned of launching more raids saying to NBC News, "We might hit it a few more times just for fun."

On Saturday, Trump urged other countries to send warships to secure the Strait of Hormuz, which was disrupted by Iran amid the American-Israeli war on it, while Tehran threatened to target American companies if its energy facilities were bombed.

The office of the presidency in South Korea stated that it would carefully consider the American president’s calls for allies to send warships to secure the Strait of Hormuz.
