Trump Not Ready to Make a Deal with Iran

Khaberni - The American president, Donald Trump, said on Sunday that he is not ready to make a deal with Iran, pointing out that "the terms are not good enough yet".

Trump told "NBC News" that the strikes on Kharg Island "completely destroyed" most of the island, but "we might hit it a few more times just for fun."

He indicated that "it is unclear whether Iran has laid mines in the Strait of Hormuz".

Trump said: "I hear that the new Iranian supreme leader may not be alive".

Earlier, three informed sources reported that the American administration led by President Donald Trump rejected efforts by Middle Eastern allies to start diplomatic negotiations aimed at ending the war with Iran, which started two weeks ago with a widespread American-Israeli air attack.

Two senior Iranian sources told Reuters that Tehran rejected the possibility of a ceasefire until the American and Israeli attacks stop, and they added that several countries sought to mediate to end the conflict.

The lack of interest shown by Washington and Tehran indicates that both sides are preparing for a long-term conflict, even as the scope of the war widens, leaving civilian casualties and Iran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz causing a rise in oil prices.

Since Saturday, February 28th, Israel and the United States have been conducting air strikes on Iran, which resulted in the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Since then, Tehran has retaliated by striking Israel and countries in the region with missiles and drones.
