India raises prices of industrial LPG and aviation fuel

Khaberni - The Indian Oil Corporation, the largest state-owned refining company in India, announced in a statement that it has raised the prices of industrial LPG and aviation fuel for foreign airlines effective Friday.

The corporation added that the price of a 19-kilogram commercial LPG cylinder designated for industrial customers increased by 993 rupees or 47.8% to 3071.5 rupees.

However, the price of domestic LPG, mainly used as cooking fuel, remained unchanged.

According to the corporation, there was no adjustment in aviation fuel prices for domestic airlines.

These price increases come amid a sharp rise in global oil prices. The price of a barrel of oil jumped above 100 dollars per barrel following the closure of the vital Strait of Hormuz, essential for shipping oil from the Gulf region.
