Tension at the Nasib Crossing Jordanian Trucks Attacked After New Transport Agreement Video

Khaberni - The guild leader of the owners of clearing and transport companies, Daifallah Abu Aqoula, stated that the reason for several Jordanian trucks being attacked at the Nasib Syrian crossing dates back to the decision to allow Jordanian trucks to cross into Syrian territory, which angered the Syrian truck owners.

Abu Aqoula explained that the Syrian truck owners had been benefiting from the "back to back" transfer operations at the border, but the recent Jordanian-Syrian agreement allowed Jordanian trucks to enter Syria and the Syrian ports for loading and unloading operations, as well as allowing Syrian trucks to go to the Aqaba port to perform the same operations.

He added that some Jordanian trucks that crossed at the Nasib crossing on Friday suffered limited damage after being attacked by Syrian truck owners, before the Syrian security forces intervened. He called for security escorts for the shipping convoys when implementing the decision.
