Khaberni - The Ministry of Investment, on Thursday, presented a major investment opportunity represented in the Amman Bridge project.

The ministry invited qualified companies and specialized consortia in the design, construction, financing, operation, and maintenance of major road and bridge projects to participate in the preliminary qualification process for the project under a public-private partnership model.

The Amman Bridge project is considered one of the strategic leading projects in the transport and infrastructure sector. It includes the construction of the first suspended highway in Jordan, with a length of 15.8 kilometers, connecting the north and south of the capital, Amman. This project aims to improve the efficiency of traffic movement in one of the most congested axes in the Kingdom, and enhance urban connectivity and support economic activity.

The project aims to develop advanced infrastructure for urban transport. It includes the construction of a road with two lanes in each direction in addition to a designated path for rapid transit buses, along with the use of smart transportation systems, modern payment solutions, and energy-saving lighting. This enhances mobility efficiency and reduces environmental impact.

The project also provides traffic capacity, contributes to reducing travel time and improving quality of life, and represents a promising investment opportunity within the public-private partnership projects in the infrastructure sector.

The announcement issued by the Public-Private Partnership unit at the Ministry of Investment stated that the project will be implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Works and Housing and operates on a toll system, while keeping King Abdullah II Street as a free alternative route available to users.
