Khaberni - The Greater Amman Municipality has declared a medium emergency status starting from Friday evening to deal with the low pressure system affecting the kingdom.
The spokesperson for the Greater Amman Municipality, Nasser al-Rahamneh, confirmed the readiness of the municipality's field teams to deal with any reports received by the Tla' Al-Ali emergency room, urging citizens to call the unified contact center numbers (102 and 117180) if they observe any issues.
Al-Rahamneh urged citizens to be cautious and avoid valleys and low areas, and to avoid random disposal of waste as it causes clogging in the rainwater drainage lines.
He emphasized the importance of inspecting submersible pumps in basements and commercial stores located below street level, and for traders to take precautionary measures when storing goods in warehouses and basements.
Al-Rahamneh also urged contractors and construction project owners to secure building materials to prevent them from being washed away and causing direct blockage of the rainwater drainage lines.
