Khaberni - The Egyptian Musicians Syndicate, today, Thursday, denied the rumors circulating on social media about the death of the Egyptian singer Hany Shaker (1952), and confirmed that this news is "completely unfounded". The syndicate, through its official account on "Facebook", reported that Hany Shaker is currently receiving treatment, and urged the public not to follow rumors. It added, "The esteemed artist is still alive and is currently receiving treatment. We pray to God for his swift and complete recovery and well-being."
In this context, the head of the Musicians Syndicate, Mostafa Kamel, confirmed that Shaker's health condition is stable and has shown significant improvement over the past few days, thanks to the medical care he is receiving and the precise monitoring by the specialized doctors.
Reassuring news has been reported regarding the health of the Egyptian singer after the recent health issue that affected him and led to his admission into the intensive care unit for a precautionary period. His business manager, Khedr Aknan, in press statements, reported that his health condition has improved noticeably, noting that he has been responding well to the treatment since his hospital admission. Aknan explained that the medical team has been closely monitoring his health condition in recent days to ensure its full stabilization before taking any new steps in the treatment process.
He mentioned that Hany Shaker is preparing to travel to the French capital, Paris, in the next two days, accompanied by his wife and son, to continue medical examinations and treatment, as well as to spend a period of rest under specialized medical supervision. He added that the decision to travel came after obtaining the necessary medical approvals and completing the arrangements for his safe transfer.
Hany Shaker experienced a sudden health issue at the beginning of Ramadan, due to stomach troubles, which necessitated his transfer to the hospital for necessary examinations. Later tests revealed he was suffering from a colon bleed, which required urgent surgical intervention, before the doctors decided to keep him under observation in intensive care for a precautionary period to ensure his health condition stabilizes.
Hany Shaker is an Egyptian singer and composer, known for his classic romantic style. Born in Cairo in 1952. He was discovered by the musician Mohamed El-Mougi in 1972, and his first song was "Helwa Ya Donya". He served as the head of the Musicians Syndicate in Egypt for two consecutive terms before resigning in 2022. His tenure saw widespread controversy within the artistic community, particularly due to his decisions concerning the regulation of artistic work and his stance on festival song performers, with the syndicate under his leadership banning several of them from singing for not having membership in the syndicate, which sparked a broad discussion about the role of the syndicate and the limits of its intervention in new forms of singing. His tenure also witnessed crises and disagreements with public figures and actors in the artistic community, amid ongoing debates about freedom of creativity and profession regulation.
