Khaberni - In a new step to document the life of the dark Andalib, the family of the late singer Abdel Halim Hafez has requested the creation of a film about his life, similar to the movie "Michael", which covers the biography of the world-famous singer Michael Jackson.
Abdel Halim El-Shennawy, Abdel Halim Hafez’s grandchild, wrote on the official family page on Facebook, saying: "Today I watched the movie 'Michael', a story about the life of the pop legend Michael Jackson, and I am happy with this visual and auditory experience, and indeed we hope to create a film for Halim with new and different artistic technology and a major production that befits Halim's artistic history".
He added: "As a family, we are ready to provide all the support and assistance with all the information, details, and artistic secrets that would make this work different from what has been presented before."
He continued, saying: "We are also ready for this work 'the personal, human, and artistic aspect' to be filmed in Halim's house, so it resembles reality, and it would be the first time a creative work is filmed with visual splendor within Halim's house."
He clarified: "Halim's personal and artistic life deserves that more than one work be produced about him, to exhibit all aspects of his life from the beginning until his death,"
He continued, stating there is still much more that has yet to be covered about Halim's life, who was and still remains a singing legend in the Arab world, and his fanbase continues to grow, although he passed away half a century ago."
It is noted that Abdel Halim Hafez, born in the village of "Halawat" in 1929, is considered one of the greatest singing icons of the twentieth century. Despite his exceptional talent, his life was a series of pains due to suffering from "schistosomiasis" and its complications, a struggle that ended with his demise in London on March 30, 1977, leaving behind an artistic legacy that still lives in the hearts of millions.
Abdel Halim Hafez did not only contribute to the field of singing but also presented a number of cinematic works. The dark Andalib starred in 16 films, spanning the period between 1955 and 1969, most of which featured a romantic musical theme, with the most famous ones being: Days and Nights, Modern Girls, The Empty Pillow, A Love Story, The Sins, and the last one, My Father Above the Tree.
It should be mentioned that two artistic works about the life of Abdel Halim have been produced, the first is the series "The Andalib: A People's Tale", which starred singer Shady Shamel, Abla Kamel, and Ahmed Falawks, and the second is the movie "Halim", which was presented by Ahmed Zaki.
