Khaberni - Indian companies have raised the prices of liquefied petroleum gas, which is mostly used as cooking fuel, for the first time in about a year.
This comes in parallel with rising global prices due to the American-Israeli war on Iran which disrupted supplies from the Middle East.
The website of the Indian Oil Corporation, the country's largest LPG refining and selling company, shows that it has increased the price of a 14.2-kilogram LPG cylinder in Delhi by 7% to 913 rupees ($9.93).
Indian Oil Corporation and companies Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum raised the prices simultaneously.
Yesterday, India asked refining companies to increase production of liquefied petroleum gas to avoid any shortage of cooking gas in the country.
Indian companies also raised the prices of 19-kilogram commercial LPG cylinders, primarily used by hotels and restaurants, from 1768.50 rupees to 1883 rupees.
