Khaberni - The British "Daily Mail" reported controversial statements by Manchester United legend Paul Scholes, who sees the veteran Italian Carlo Ancelotti as the "ideal choice" to lead the "Red Devils", despite the historic start by his former teammate Michael Carrick as an interim coach.
In a discussion on the podcast "The Good, The Bad & The Football", Scholes explained that Manchester United needs a leader with charisma and a strong presence, which are qualities found in Ancelotti, the current coach of the Brazilian national team, saying: "Ancelotti is the most suitable, as he has the ability to make players feel worth millions, and he possesses extensive experience in winning championships, despite some question about his advancing age."
Doubts about Carrick despite the legendary start
Although Michael Carrick achieved the best record for a manager in the history of the English Premier League during his first 7 matches (6 wins and one draw) moving the team up to third place, Scholes placed question marks on his future as a permanent manager:
Championship challenge: Scholes doubted Carrick's ability to win the "Premier League" title, noting that his experience in the "Championship" with Middlesbrough is entirely different from the demands of success at "Old Trafford".
Between tactics and management: Scholes compared Carrick's style with that of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, noting that the club must decide whether they want a "tactical genius" or a "manager who excels at handling individuals", which is the role Carrick currently plays alongside his assistant Steve Holland.
