Messi reaches goal 70 and Ronaldo chases the top with 63 free kicks

Khaberni - The eternal struggle between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo continues to write new chapters, this time on the "Free Kick Kings" platform.

After his recent double with Inter Miami against Orlando (4-2) in the second round of the American Professional League championship, Messi has raised his total to 70 free-kick goals, placing him just two steps away from equalling the record of the Brazilian Juninho Pernambucano (72 goals) and breaking into the top three historically.

Messi now needs 8 goals to equal the record held by Brazilian Marcelinho Carioca, who has 78 goals, and nine goals to claim the throne alone as the top scorer from free kicks in football history.

On the other hand, Cristiano Ronaldo holds the ninth position in the historical list with 63 goals, two ahead of the legendary Diego Maradona, who rounds out the top ten with 61 goals.

Despite being 15 goals away from the lead, the enduring desire of the Al Nassr star to break records makes his pursuit of the rest of the names on the list a matter of anticipation.

The list reflects a clear Brazilian dominance, in addition to the leader Carioca, we find Roberto Dinamite in second place with 75 goals, and Juninho third with 72 goals, followed by Messi in fourth with 70 goals, then Brazilian Marcos Assunção with 69 goals, and his compatriot Zico with 68 goals.

The list also includes prominent names such as Sinisa Mihajlovic (67 goals) and Pierre van Hooijdonk (65 goals).
