Khaberni - The CIA published a direct message yesterday (Tuesday), directed to the Iranian people in Persian through its official account on the platform «X», emphasizing that the agency «hears your voice and wants to help you», with detailed technical instructions for secure and confidential communication with it.
The message was published in an official tweet from the agency's main account, accompanied by a video that is about two minutes and 15 seconds long in Persian, and the video explains step-by-step how to establish a secure virtual communication, focusing on protecting the identity and safety of the communicators.
The tweet quickly received significant interaction; more than 18,000 likes, 4,000 retweets, and over 2.3 million views in a few hours.
In the message and the video, the agency confirmed that the safety and security of the communicators are «the utmost priority», warning of the risks from electronic surveillance within Iran, and calling for strict security measures according to each individual's personal situation.
The message comes amidst escalating tensions between the United States and Iran, particularly after widespread protests in Iran in December and January, and the imposition of new U.S. sanctions on Iranian officials for suppression of free expression and peaceful demonstration.
It coincided with suspicious text messages sent to tens of thousands of Iranians talking about a «man in action» in reference to the American president, raising fears of cyber attacks or propaganda campaigns.
The «CIA» previously ran similar campaigns in Chinese to recruit sources within China, as part of the agency's overt strategy to encourage communication from countries with high-level electronic monitoring.
This coincides with the resumption of nuclear negotiations between Tehran and Washington in the Sultanate of Oman since February 6, following a pause due to American-Israeli attacks on Iran in June 2025.
The second round of negotiations took place under Omani sponsorship in Geneva, Switzerland on February 18, and the delegations of the two countries are expected to meet again in Geneva tomorrow (Thursday).
The United States demands Iran to completely stop its uranium enrichment activities, transfer enriched uranium out of the country, and hints at the use of military force against it.
