Pistachio Butter Protects Against the Risk of Falling

Elderly people often take dietary supplements to improve their health, including pistachio butter which is rich in nutrients such as protein and healthy fats, and is an available, low-cost alternative with good taste.

Scientists from Deakin University in Australia have shown through a study involving 120 adults aged 66-89 living independently and at risk of falling that consuming 3 tablespoons daily of pistachio butter significantly improves muscle strength in the elderly.

The scientists say in a report published in the journal JCSM, the participants in the study were divided into two groups, one of which consumed pistachio butter, and it was found from the sit-to-stand tests they applied that they performed them faster than the other group without any increase in weight.

They say, performing tests faster means better muscle strength, and this helps them in performing daily physical activities and protects them from the risks of falling.
