The King values Indonesias role in protecting Palestinians in Gaza

Khaberni  - The talks between His Majesty King Abdullah II and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at Basman Al-Zaher Palace on Wednesday focused on ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in ways that serve the interests of both countries and achieve regional stability.

His Majesty the King, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, valued Indonesia’s role towards the challenges facing the region, especially its support for achieving peace based on the two-state solution, and its commitment to protecting the Palestinians in Gaza, pointing out his anticipation to discuss ways to cooperate in this context.

His Majesty praised the political stature of President Subianto and the economic strength of Indonesia and its projects in the region as fundamental factors that can be built upon for joint action.

On his part, the Indonesian President expressed his gratitude to His Majesty the King for the warm hospitality and reception.

He confirmed his country's commitment to work towards achieving lasting peace based on the two-state solution, stressing that it is the only solution to achieve stability in the region and expressing his support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

The Indonesian President reiterated his country’s support for implementing the agreement to end the war in Gaza, thanking Jordan's role in this context.

The President spoke about developments in the West Bank, warning of the danger of escalation on the region, especially the efforts to restore stability in Gaza.

The talks addressed the strong fraternal relations between Jordan and Indonesia that have spanned over 75 years, the eagerness to elevate political, economic, defensive cooperation, and in promising fields such as business, investment, energy, science and technology, and health.

The leaders discussed the results of His Majesty’s visit to Indonesia last November and the mechanisms to build on its outcomes.

The talks addressed the situation in the Palestinian territories, where His Majesty emphasized the rejection of the escalatory Israeli measures aimed at expanding settlements and controlling lands in the West Bank, warning of the continuing violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

His Majesty stressed the importance of dialogue and diplomatic channels in reducing tensions related to Iran and the necessity of supporting efforts of Syria and Lebanon in maintaining their security, stability, and sovereignty.

The talks were attended by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Yousef Ahmad Al-Huneiti, the Director of His Majesty’s Office, Engineer Alaa Al-Batayneh, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Engineer Ya‘rab Al-Qudah, head of the honor mission accompanying the guest, and the accompanying delegation of the Indonesian President.

His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince bid farewell to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at Marka Airport after concluding his visit to the Kingdom.
