Injury of an occupation police element by hitandrun near Zaatara checkpoint

Khaberni  - An Israeli policeman was injured this Monday evening due to a hit-and-run incident near the Za'atara checkpoint in the northern occupied West Bank.

Initial Israeli reports indicated a shooting and ramming operation at the location targeting a patrol of the occupation police.

However, a statement later issued by the occupation police stated that "a truck collided forcefully with a police force operating in the Tabuah junction area, then fled the scene."

The police added that their forces were called to the location and began chasing the suspected driver, before arresting him along with another suspect who was in the vehicle with him.

Later, the Israeli police announced the matter as a traffic accident.

The Israeli ambulance teams also announced that at 17:29, a report was received about a truck that collided with a vehicle and hit a concrete barrier near a bus station in the area.

They added that medical teams administered treatment on the spot to a man in his fifties, describing his condition as minor, before transporting him to "Beilinson" hospital.

Palestinian sources reported that the road in the area is open, and confirmed that the incident was a traffic accident.
