Rennes Continues its Revival AlTaamari Creates a Goal

Khaberni  -  Rennes continued its revival after the dismissal of its former coach Habib Bay and achieved an important victory over its host Auxerre, in a match that witnessed Jordanian international star Moosa Al-Taamari creating one of his team's goals.

Rennes remains in the heart of the battle for participation in next season's UEFA Champions League, registering a triad of goals against host Auxerre 3-0 in the first half of the match held on Sunday in the 23rd round of the French Football League.

Rennes entered the match with very high morale after winning against the titleholder Paris Saint-Germain 3-1 in the previous round, which effectively played against a team struggling to avoid relegation to the second division.

Rennes secured its first league victory at the Auxerre stadium since October 2011 (1-0) in the first half by scoring three goals through Mehdi Kamara (20 and 45) and Esteban Loebol (22), with Al-Taamari creating the third goal.

Rennes raised its points to 37 in the fifth place, three points away from Marseille in fourth place qualifying for the third preliminary round of the Champions League competition, pending the match of Lille (34 points) with its host Angers later on Sunday.

Lyon, in third, will also play later against its host Strasbourg.
