Acting President of Venezuela Confirms Her Countrys Interest in Strengthening Relations with Jordan

Khaberni - The acting Venezuelan President Delcy Rodríguez received on Friday afternoon, Venezuela time, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi, who conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah II to the acting Venezuelan President, and His Majesty's keen interest in developing the relations between the Kingdom and Venezuela.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs stated in a press release on Saturday, that the acting Venezuelan President sent her greetings back to His Majesty King Abdullah II, and affirmed Venezuela's interest in enhancing bilateral relations in various fields.

The meeting discussed opportunities to increase cooperation in various economic sectors, in addition to a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Upon his arrival in Venezuela, Safadi met with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Hil, and held extensive talks on ways to increase cooperation between the two countries in several vital sectors including energy, oil and gas, tourism, culture, trade, and investment, which would positively reflect on both friendly nations. The ministers also discussed a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest, and emphasized the importance of all efforts to consolidate regional and international security and stability.

Safadi and Hil agreed to establish a clear roadmap that identifies available and promising economic cooperation sectors, and the means of cooperation within them, as well as to accelerate the signing of the necessary bilateral cooperation agreements to develop relations in various fields.

The ministers agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding for political consultations between the two countries that would institutionalize periodic meetings to enhance friendship and cooperation relations between Jordan and Venezuela.

The two countries had previously signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the tourism field, and the exemption of diplomatic passport holders from entry visas.
