The Syrian series «Al-Noilati» has attracted viewers' attention since its debut in the Ramadan 2026 drama season, offering a work of historical fantasy that mixes realism with fiction in a visually rich setting that reshapes the features of old Damascus, featuring a cast of top Syrian drama stars, led by Samer Al Masri and Dima Kandalaft, along with a group of fresh faces in the art scene.
Dima Kandalaft as «Khawla» in «Al-Noilati»
The producing company, via its official Instagram account, revealed the first appearance of Dima Kandalaft as «Khawla», praising the presence she showcased and the depth and clarity she brought to the character.
Kandalaft portrays a strong, influential woman who navigates a complex web of emotional, political, and social conflicts, in a direct confrontation with the character «Faisal Al-Ghawas», played by Samer Al Masri. The relationship between the two intertwines through mutual interests and ambitions, escalating as the events unfold.
Details of the first episode of «Al-Noilati» Ramadan 2026
The first episode was filled with rapid developments, where the sheikh of the Noilatia weavers, «Ibrahim Pasha», played by Faez Kazak, writes a secret will in two copies and hands it over to «Abu Maram», played by Youssef Moqbel, before being assassinated in his workshop by masked men, an incident that shakes the Noilatia market.
With the accusations escalating against «Salah», played by Fadi Sabeeh, about the decline in the silk trade, the struggle over the will and the leadership position intensifies. «Khawla» intervenes to push her husband to enter the competition for the position, while «Salah» concludes the scene by firing shots during the funeral procession, marking the start of an open confrontation over power and authority.
«Al-Noilati»...Fantasy with Damascene Roots
«Al-Noilati» belongs to historical fantasy, but it is grounded in real details from the profession of weaving in Damascus, including silk worm farming and silk extraction, addressing the role of «carriage sheikhs» in protecting traditional crafts and maintaining the identity of the city through the ages, within a treatment that combines suspense and a cultural dimension.
In addition to Samer Al Masri and Dima Kandalaft, the cast includes: Mohammed Haddaqi, Nadine Tahseen Beck, Ghazwan Al Safadi, Ramez Aswad, and Wael Zeidan. The series is written by Osman Jaha and produced by «Golden Line», making it among the competitive works in Ramadan 2026 drama.
