Khaberni - The acting director of the Poultry Breeders' Union, Engineer Rowan Abu Adi, confirmed that despite the increased demand for poultry at the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, the quantities are available in large amounts in the markets.
She pointed out that poultry quantities are significantly available this year, and that the prices are moderate and 20% lower than last year, with price offers ranging from 1.49 to 1.79 dinars per kilogram in various major markets, according to opinion.
She explained that the efficiency of the production chains contributed to providing poultry quantities in the markets and increasing the average weights, confirming that there are no issues related to supply or production, and that the abundance of supply has helped maintain price stability and meet the needs of citizens without any shortage.
She advised citizens not to rush to purchase, expecting that the quantities of offers will increase after the first five days of the holy month.
She indicated that the abundance of production and stability of supply directly reflect the stability of prices, which are expected to remain within their normal rates, and even lower than their levels during the previous Ramadan.
Abu Adi had previously predicted that the demand for poultry would see a significant increase during the first five days of Ramadan due to citizens’ initial purchasing at the beginning of the month, confirming that the demand would start to decrease noticeably after this period, which would positively reflect on the stability of prices and balance them, continuing at levels suitable for consumers.
She confirmed that the Poultry Breeders' Union continues to monitor market conditions daily, and in coordination with the relevant authorities, to ensure the sustainable availability of local products and achieve a fair balance between the interest of the farmers and providing poultry quantities at moderate prices to the consumer during the holy month of Ramadan.
