The Prisoners Affairs Authority and the Prisoners Club Tightening the conditions of administrative detainees is a perpetuatio

Khaberni - The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner's Club stated that the Israeli occupation's move to enact legal amendments that lead to the tightening of detention conditions for administrative detainees essentially represents a consolidation of the already existing crimes and violations against prisoners in general, and administrative detainees in particular.

In a joint statement on Wednesday, the two organizations confirmed that these amendments represent a new attempt, under legal cover, to evade the basic rights guaranteed by international law for administrative detainees, which sets clear and strict limits on the use of administrative detention and prevents its transformation into a tool for collective punishment or indefinite detention without trial.

The Commission and the Club explained that the issue of administrative detainees today represents one of the most significant changes that have occurred in the composition of the prisoner movement in occupation prisons, amidst an unprecedented escalation in arbitrary arrest campaigns under the guise of what the occupation calls the "secret file," which has affected thousands of Palestinians since the start of the genocide crime.

The statement noted that administrative detainees today constitute the highest percentage among prisoner categories, including detainees and convicted individuals, classified as "unlawful combatants".

The specialized institutions recorded the highest historical rate of administrative detainees, with their number today reaching about (3360), including women and children, which represents approximately 36% of the total number of prisoners in occupation prisons.
