Musa AlSabehi Withdrawing subscriptions threatens the goal of Income Security

Khaberni - Social security and insurance expert Musa Al-Sabehi criticized the proposed amendments to the Public Institution for Social Security Law, which allow a Jordanian insured, who has not met the conditions for receiving a retirement pension, to apply for a lump-sum compensation of their subscription periods, known as "withdrawing subscriptions".

Al-Sabehi questioned whether this approach is consistent with the concept of social protection for which the institution was established, considering that enabling citizens to achieve "Income Security" through a permanent retirement pension is the fundamental goal, and not just settling for a lump-sum financial compensation.

He expressed surprise at the inclusion of this clause in the amendments, wondering about its purposes and how well it aligns with the goals of the economic modernization vision and the national strategy for social protection.
