The occupation kills a child in the Jordan Valley demolishes a house in Jenin and seizes an archaeological site in Nablus

Khaberni - A Palestinian child was martyred and two others were injured on Tuesday, due to the explosion of Israeli military remnants in the central Jordan Valley, east of the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian news agency "Wafa," quoting the mayor of Jiftlik, Ahmad Ghawanmeh, reported the killing of a child and the injury of others, one of whom sustained serious injuries, due to the explosion of ammunition from the remnants of the occupation forces in the Froush Beit Dajan area of the Jiftlik town in the central Jordan Valley.

Ghawanmeh noted that the occupation forces prevented Palestinian civilians from approaching the explosion site. In contrast, the Israeli army said that 3 Palestinians were injured "as a result of tampering with ammunition remnants" belonging to it in the Tirtsa military base area in the Jordan Valley, adding that it is "a firing area where entry is prohibited."

The Jordan Valley falls within the areas classified as "C" in the West Bank, which are under full Israeli civil, administrative, and security control, and constitute about 61% of the area of the West Bank.

Israel considers wide areas of the Jordan Valley as military training zones where civilian movement is prohibited and imposes strict restrictions on Palestinians living in its villages, but the Palestinians say these measures restrict their access to their lands.

Explosion of a Martyr's Home
In the Jenin Governorate, the occupation forces demolished the three-story house of martyr Raafat Dawasa in the town of Silat al-Harithiya west of the city, after evacuating families from nearby homes, and Palestinian platforms and activists documented the demolition process with video clips.

The occupation forces fired live ammunition at schoolchildren during the raid, coinciding with their entry into the town of Al-Yamun accompanied by military armored vehicles and closing some entrances leading to Silat al-Harithiya, according to Anadolu Agency.

It is noted that Raafat Dawasa was martyred on August 18, 2024, following the bombing of a vehicle he was traveling in with martyr Ahmad Abu Arah near the Bateekh roundabout in central Jenin.

Al Jazeera's camera observed the occupation forces demolishing a house belonging to two brothers in the town of al-Khader in the Bethlehem Governorate, under the pretext of not obtaining permits.

The occupation forces also demolished 4 houses and residential and agricultural facilities in several governorates in the West Bank and the city of occupied Jerusalem.

The West Bank Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission stated that the Israeli occupation will seize two square kilometers of land in the towns of Sebastia and Barqa north of Nablus, explaining that it issued an expropriation order for the archaeological site in Sebastia in Nablus to allocate its land to settlers.

A statement by 80 countries, including China, European, Arab, and Islamic countries, condemned Israel's decisions to extend its illegal presence in the West Bank, and the statement affirmed opposition to any form of Israel's annexation of the West Bank.

Edge of Patience
The Israeli site "Walla" revealed that reports reaching the office of the Chief of Staff indicate that Palestinians in the West Bank have reached the "edge of patience" regarding the escalating Israeli measures, and the site quoted an Israeli security source saying "the discourse has shifted from a stage of expectations to a stage of demands, stemming from a broad camp feeling that it has been pushed into a corner with no exit."

The Israeli General Security Service (Shin Bet) in its latest assessments of the situation stated that "the key to calm lies in the delicate balance between strict law enforcement and the preservation of freedom of worship and the status quo at Al-Aqsa Mosque," according to the same site.
