Khaberni - Today, the ABC Bank Group (Arab Banking Corporation B.S.C.) announced the appointment of Mr. Abdelkhalik Shaib as the Head of Legal and Institutional Affairs for the group.
This appointment comes as part of the group's ongoing focus on enhancing governance, establishing clear responsibilities, and ensuring effective oversight of key legal, regulatory, and institutional matters, reflecting at the same time the depth of leadership capabilities within the group.
In his new role, Mr. Shaib will join the group’s senior executive management team and will continue his duties as the Secretary of the Board of Directors. He will oversee Legal and Compliance, Corporate Communications and Marketing, Investor Relations, Sustainability, and Board Affairs, ensuring integrated coordination and consistent communication with regulatory authorities, shareholders, and all key stakeholders across the group’s international markets.
The group’s Chief Compliance Officer will continue to primarily report to the Compliance Committee formed by the Board, maintaining the independence of the function and full compliance with regulatory requirements.

Abdelkhalik Shaib has held leadership positions in the areas of Legal and Governance at ABC Bank Group since 2018 and has extensive experience in legal fields, dealing with regulatory authorities, corporate governance, and international banking matters. He holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) from Harvard Law School and is currently pursuing an MBA at the University of Oxford (Class of 2026). He is licensed to practice law in both New York State and the Republic of Sudan.
