Khaberni - The High Council for Traffic Safety stated that traffic awareness programs and law enforcement have positively contributed to improving traffic behaviors, which was reflected through a noticeable reduction in violations that threaten the lives of road users and increase traffic congestion.
The council revealed, in a meeting held on Sunday morning chaired by the Ministers of Interior and Transportation and the Director of Public Security, that serious violations have decreased by 41% in 2025 compared to 2024.
According to Khaberni monitoring, the numbers showed that the most significant decrease was in the use of mobile phones, with a reduction of 69%, where about 182,000 violations were recorded in 2025, compared to 595,620 violations in 2024.
Violations related to all types of parking also decreased by 40%, with about 634,000 violations recorded in 2025, compared to more than one million violations in 2024.
Reckless driving violations decreased from 4,282 in 2024 to 3,510 violations in 2025, a decrease of 18%.
Similarly, violations for running red lights decreased Khaberni from 48,712 violations in 2024 to 40,296 violations in 2025, a reduction rate of 17%.
