The Saudi Supreme Court Calls for Sighting the Crescent Moon of Ramadan on Tuesday

Khaberni - The Saudi Supreme Court invites the observation of the crescent moon of the blessed month of Ramadan on the evening of Tuesday, 29 Sha'ban, corresponding to February 17, 2026.

This was stated in an announcement by the Supreme Court, which reads as follows:

"Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon all his family and companions, and thereafter:

Considering what was included in the Supreme Court Decision No. (203/H) dated 29/7/1447 AH that Tuesday, 1/8/1447 AH - according to Umm al-Qura calendar - corresponding to January 20, 2026 AD, is the beginning of the month of Sha'ban for the year 1447 AH; the Supreme Court desires all Muslims throughout the Kingdom to observe the crescent moon of the blessed month of Ramadan on the evening of Tuesday, 29/8/1447 AH - according to the Umm al-Qura calendar - corresponding to February 17, 2026 AD.

The Supreme Court also urges anyone who sees it with the naked eye, or through telescopes, to inform the nearest court and record his testimony there, or to contact the nearest center; to assist him in reaching the nearest court.

The Supreme Court hopes that those who are capable of sighting pay attention to this matter and join the committees formed in the regions for this purpose, calculating the reward and blessing by participating; as it involves cooperation in righteousness and piety, and benefit to all Muslims.

And may Allah grant success, and peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad and all his family and companions."
