New Bus Frequency System for TafilahAmman by the End of Q1 2026 to Resolve Waiting Crisis

Khaberni - The Director of the Land Transport Directorate in Tafilah, Saleh Al-Badour, said on Saturday that the Directorate is about to implement the frequency system from Tafilah province to the capital, Amman, set to start functioning by the end of the first quarter of 2026.

Al-Badour confirmed that the Directorate is in the process of shifting the current transport system from individuals to companies, noting that the work of these companies would be monitored through tracking systems and electronic payment, in addition to monitoring buses via cameras, and that transport would adhere to a fixed schedule, including trips from Tafilah province to Amman and vice versa.

Regarding the issue of passengers waiting for buses until they fill up, he mentioned that efforts are currently underway to find solutions until the new system is implemented, emphasizing that service improvement will be through the establishment of regular and efficient transportation companies, which will reduce waiting times.

Al-Badour explained that the new system includes implementing a frequency program from Amman to Tafilah, where transportation companies will be established with a fixed schedule, and buses monitored using cameras and tracking and electronic payment systems, which will contribute to improving service levels and offering it faster and more efficiently.
