Khaberni - The president of the dentists' union, Aya Al-Asmar, disclosed on Friday that the union would be allocating a QR Code for each doctor, which allows service recipients to verify that they are licensed and are legally practicing the profession.
Al-Asmar stated on Al-Mamlaka channel that the purpose of updating the systems and the digital transformation that the dentists' union is undertaking is to highlight the union's role in serving the local community, preserving citizens' safety, and ensuring the quality of services provided to them in dental clinics and centers.
She added that this also aims to achieve the union's objectives of preserving and organizing the profession and defending it against the phenomenon of impersonators and intruders.
Al-Asmar pointed out that system updates and digital transformation are part of the union’s policy in the comprehensive digital transformation process, in addition to preparing authorized dentists to be uploaded on the medical tourism platform within the national medical tourism system.
She explained that the QR Code aims to organize and protect the profession from intruders, noting that the code will be specific to each dentist and every clinic and center, allowing citizens to scan the code and verify information related to the doctor, and ensuring they are authorized to practice the profession.
Al-Asmar considered that misleading advertisements carried out by impersonators on social media platforms represent a significant problem facing the profession and its practitioners.
She indicated that next week, the dentists' union would approach the Cybercrime Unit of the Public Security Directorate regarding these fake pages and misleading advertisements.
