The Blue Quran is one of the rarest and most luxurious manuscripted Qurans in the history of Islamic civilization, written in pure gold water in the ancient Kufic script on a dark blue background, in a unique artistic style that reflects the early Muslims' attention to the aesthetics of writing the Holy Quran and their reverence for the Quranic text.
This Quran dates back to the 3rd century Hijri, equivalent to the 9th century AD, giving it high historical and scientific value as it stands witness to the development of Arabic calligraphy and decoration in the early Islamic ages, in addition to the rarity of its remaining copies in the world today, whose pages are distributed among a limited number of museums and global collections.
