Dubai Announces Extinguishing Fire on a Giant Kuwaiti Oil Tanker After Iranian Targeting

Khaberni  - The competent authorities in Dubai confirmed on Tuesday the success of the specialized teams in extinguishing the fire that a Kuwaiti oil tanker experienced in the Al-Khataf area after an Iranian targeting, as stated by the Dubai Government Media Office.

The Dubai Government Media Office added: "The relevant teams continue to assess the situation and take the necessary actions, and any information will be shared as it becomes available".

Later, the competent authorities in Dubai announced that their teams had successfully dealt with the incident without any oil spill or injuries recorded.

The competent authorities in Dubai announced their handling of an incident caused by a drone that targeted a Kuwaiti oil tanker in Dubai waters (Al-Mukhtaf E) without recording any injuries, according to the government media office in Dubai.

The office clarified, in a post on the "X" platform: "Marine firefighting teams are working to control the fire, deal with the incident according to the followed procedures, and more information will be announced as soon as it is available".

In turn, the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation announced that "the giant Kuwaiti crude oil tanker (Al-Salmi) was directly targeted by an Iranian heinous act while it was located in the (Al-Mukhtaf) area at Dubai Port in the UAE".

It clarified that "the tanker was fully loaded at the time of the incident and the attack resulted in material damage to the ship’s hull, and a fire broke out on board with the possibility of an oil spill in the surrounding waters".

The corporation confirmed that no human injuries occurred, noting that their teams are currently assessing the damages accurately.
